TOURISM VISA

The Tourism Visa is a concession extended to foreign citizens wishing to enter the Republic of Angola for recreational, sporting or cultural purposes. This visa must be used within sixty (60) days of the date of issue. It allows the tourist to stay in the country for a period of up to thirty (30) days and can be extended once for an equal period. The Tourism Visa does not allow its holder to establish residence in national territory or to exercise any paid activity.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Application Form, fully completed without errors or erasures, in capital letters or typed in black ink and signed by the applicant.
  • Passport valid for more than six (6) months, with two (2) consecutive blank sheets in order to affix the visa. Copies of the main pages of the passport with details of visas and stamps of previous travels must be included.
  • Two (2) passport size photos, in colour, dated no more than three (3) months previous and taken with a white background
  • International Certification of Vaccination.
  • Proof of Hotel Reservation OR Letter of Invitation.
  • The Letter of Invitation must be in Portuguese language; it must contain the identification details of the inviting person; it must specify the travel purpose; it must assume responsibility for the stay and accommodation of the applicant in Angola and it must include the following information regarding the applicant: Full Name, Nationality, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Passport Number, Passport Expiry Date, Occupation. The letter must be recognised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Angola. A letter of invitation sent by Angolan citizens must be accompanied by a copy of their angolan id card if a letter of invitation sent by foreign citizens must be accompanied by a copy of their resident card or a copy of the passport’s page showing their personal information and the page showing the visa to Angola.
  • Travel Itinerary (return journey) – Airline or travel agent pre-booking.
  • For the touristic Visitors, tour program in Angola and all vouchers, Proof of Means of Subsistence, equivalent to USD 200.00 for each day of stay in Angolan territory. This sum of money must be supported by a Bank Statement – Documents from online banking will not be accepted.
  • Whenever necessary, the Embassy reserves the right to request the presentation of other documents or demand the presence of the applicant.

RESIDENCE ESTABLISHMENT VISA

The Temporary Stay Visa allows the holder entry into Angolan territory on the following grounds:

  • Humanitarian reasons;
  • Accompanying a relative who holds a study, privileged or work visa;
  • Relative of a valid resident visa holder;
  • Spouse of a national citizen.

The Temporary Stay Visa must be used within sixty (60) days of date of issue and allows multiple entries to its holder. The holder of the visa may remain in Angolan territory for up to three hundred and sixty-five days (365) days, renewable successively until the end of the reason that originated its concession.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Application Form, fully completed without errors or erasures, in capital letters or typed in black ink and signed by the applicant.
  • Passport valid for more than six (6) months, with two (2) consecutive blank sheets in order to affix the visa. Copies of the main pages of the passport with details of visas and stamps of previous travels must be included.
  • Two (2) passport size photos, in colour, dated no more than three (3) months previous and taken with a white background
  • International Certification of Vaccination.
  • Letter from the applicant requesting the visa, addressed to the Embassy of the Republic of Angola, providing the reasons for, and stating the period of stay in national territory.
  • Criminal Record Certificate, must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator, recognised by Public Notary and legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the consular section of this Embassy.
  • Medical Certificate issued recently by the applicant's health care provider in which it is certified that the applicant does not suffer from any infectious diseases. The certificate must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator, recognised by Public Notary and legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the consular section of this Embassy.
  • Statement of Commitment to Abide by the Angolan Laws, must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator, recognised by Public Notary and legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the consular section of this Embassy.
  • Proof of an existing Family or Work Relationship with a national citizen or company, with a foreign citizen who is a legal resident or with a foreign company legally established in the country. The document must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator, recognised by Public Notary and legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the consular section of this Embassy.
  • Proof of Means of Subsistence.
  • Statement of Responsibility from the person who will act as host or Proof of Ownership or Tenancy of Property, with the signature recognised by an Angolan Notary.
  • FOR MINORS (under eighteen years old) In addition to all the above mentioned documentation, the following must also be submitted: - Full Birth Certificate of the minor applicant. - Photocopy of the Parents/Legal Guardian Passports. If travelling with only one of the parents: - Travel Authorisation Letter provided by the absent parent, with signature recognised by Public Notary.

DIPLOMATIC, COURTESY VISA

In accordance with the agreement signed between the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Turkey, Turkish citizens holding diplomatic passports, service passports, special or ordinary passports are exempt from visa for visits not exceeding 90 days. This visa is given to diplomatic passport, service passport, special or ordinary passport holders, valid Turkish residents or citizens of other countries within the area of responsibility who apply for a visa to Angola for the purpose of a diplomatic visit, service or official visit.

  • Official note/invitation letter addressed to the Angolan Embassy for the diplomatic trip/meeting held in Angola. Appointment document written by the institution to which they are affiliated for employees of the United Nations or relevant Diplomatic Mission, Consulate or International Organization (original and English translation)

WORK VISA

The Work Visa is granted to allow the holder entrance into Angola, as 365 days with the purpose of pursuing a temporarily paid professional activity in a company of Angola. It must be used within sixty (60) days of the issue date and will allow the holder multiple entries up to the end of the employment contract.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Application Form, fully completed without errors or erasures, in capital letters or typed in black ink and signed by the applicant.
  • Passport valid for more than six (6) months, with two (2) consecutive blank sheets in order to affix the visa. Copies of the main pages of the passport with details of visas and stamps of previous travels must be included.
  • Two (2) passport size photos, in colour, dated no more than three (3) months previous and taken with a white background
  • International Certification of Vaccination.
  • Letter from the applicant requesting the visa, addressed to the Embassy of the Republic of Angola, providing the reasons for, and stating the period of stay in national territory.
  • Letter from the Contractor addressed to the Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Türkiye, with a copy to Serviço de Migração e Estrangeiros (SME) in Luanda, requesting the work visa and stating that they will be responsible for the stay and repatriation of the applicant. The letter should include the following applicant’s details:  Full Name, Nationality, Birth Date, Birth Place, Passport Number, Passport Expiry Date, Occupation, Name of Employer. The letter must be recognised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Angola. A letter of invitation sent by Angolan citizens must be accompanied by a copy of their angolan id card if a letter of invitation sent by foreign citizens must be accompanied by a copy of their resident card or a copy of the passport’s page showing their personal information and the page showing the visa to Angola.
  • Work Contract, signed between by the company and employee.
  • Endorsement (PARECER) issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, where the contracting company is from the private sector.
  • Criminal Record Certificate, must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator, recognised by Public Notary and legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the consular section of this Embassy.
  • Curriculum Vitae, must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator, recognised by Public Notary and legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the consular section of this Embassy.
  • Certificate of Educational or Professional Qualifications, must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator, recognised by Public Notary and legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the consular section of this Embassy.
  • Medical Certificate issued recently by the applicant's health care provider in which it is certified that the applicant does not suffer from any infectious diseases. The certificate must be translated into Portuguese by an official translator, recognised by Public Notary and legalised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the consular section of this Embassy.

  • Companies and private institutions must also present the following (a photocopy is acceptable): 1)Business License (Alvará); 2)Diário da República containing the publication of the constitution of the contracting company, up-to-date and readable; 3)Documento de Arrecadação de Receitas (D.A.R.), readable and up-todate.

SHORT TERM VISA

The Short Term Visa is granted to foreign citizens who, for urgent reasons need to enter Angola and maritime and navigation sector’s workers. This visa must be used within 72 hours from issue date. It allows its holder to remain in national territory for up to ten (10) days and may be extended for the same period of time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Application Form, fully completed without errors or erasures, in capital letters or typed in black ink and signed by the applicant.
  • Passport valid for more than six (6) months, with two (2) consecutive blank sheets in order to affix the visa. Copies of the main pages of the passport with details of visas and stamps of previous travels must be included.
  • Two (2) passport size photos, in colour, dated no more than three (3) months previous and taken with a white background

DOCUMENT AUTHENCATION

Document Authentication is a procedure to recognize the authenticity of a document, giving it legal value for Angola.

  • A fuly filled out form during submit of your documents to the consular section.
  • All documents in a foreign language that need to recognation by the Embassy, must be previously translated into Portuguese by an official translator, recognised by Public Notary and authenticated by the local authorities such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the consular section of this Embassy. (Please note that the back pages of documents translated into Portuguese should be left blank for affixing a recognation label.)
  • After all these steps are followed, please submit your documents to be approved by the consulate to the consular department of our embassy between 10:00 – 15:00 on weekdays.
  • Fees for the approved documents must be made directly to the bank or transfer to the relevant IBAN number.
  • Approval fees for documents are announced after the approval process is completed.
